Step 1: Heating the Screen

Proper heating is required to separate the screen from the body during tablet repair.

Use a heating pad designed for tablets and mobile phones.
On the iPad 2020 model, make sure to heat the front side. Select the tablet heating option and allow the heating cycle to complete.

Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hair dryer.

Step 2: Opening the Digitizer

  • Attach a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently lift
  • Insert a plastic card pry tool or triangle picker
  • Carefully cut through the adhesive around the edges

⚠️ Be gentle while pulling, as flex cables are attached to the logic board.

Step 3: Lifting the Touch Screen

  • Lift the digitizer like opening a book, from left to right
  • Place it open carefully to access the LCD screen

Step 4: Removing the LCD Screen

  • Peel off the tape covering the LCD screw heads
  • Remove four screws securing the LCD
  • Lift the LCD to a 90-degree angle
  • Remove three screws securing the LCD connector shield

  • Lift the front camera bracket located at the center

Step 7: Removing the Front Camera & Microphone

  • Apply gentle heat to soften the adhesive securing the camera and microphone
  • Carefully remove the front camera module
  • Disconnect the microphone flex connector
  • Gently peel the microphone cable while releasing the adhesive

Step 8: Installing the New Front Camera & Microphone Flex

  • Place the new microphone and front camera flex into position
  • Connect the flex connectors securely
  • Reinstall the front camera bracket
  • Ensure the cable routing matches the original placement

Step 9: Reassembly

  • Reinstall the top shield and secure it using three screws
  • Reconnect the digitizer connectors
  • Reconnect the Home Button flex
  • Place the LCD back into position
  • Reconnect the LCD flex and reinstall the shield
  • Secure the LCD with four screws

Step 10: Closing the iPad

  • Ensure there is enough adhesive on the frame
    • Use B7000 glue or pre-cut double-sided adhesive if required
  • Close the digitizer like closing a book
  • Place the bottom edge first, then the top
  • Press firmly along all sides
  • Verify that the Home Button clicks properly

Use screen bonding clips or rubber bands and leave the device clamped for some time.
