Protect Your iPad Pro

Step-by-Step Front Camera Replacement

Step 1: Power Off the iPad

Turn off the iPad completely before starting the repair.

Step 2: Heat the Front Screen

Heating is the most important part of iPad repair.
Use a heating pad or heat gun to soften the adhesive around the screen.

  • Heat the front side only
  • Select tablet heating mode
  • Heat for 3–5 minutes

Step 3: Lift the Screen with a Suction Cup

Use a suction cup on the edge to lift the screen slightly and create a gap.
Insert plastic pry tools and slowly cut through the adhesive around the screen.

Step 4: Remove the Shield

Once the screen is lifted, carefully pull the screen up and slide down to remove the shield.
Remove two screws and take off the shield.

Step 5: Disconnect the Top Cable

The top cable is short, so be extra careful while removing it.
Disconnect the connector gently using a plastic spudger.

Step 6: Remove the Screen Assembly

Open the screen at 90 degrees like opening a book.
Remove three screws and the shield.
Disconnect four connectors to fully remove the screen assembly.

Step 7: Remove the Front Camera Bracket

Remove the bracket by undoing four screws.

Step 8: Remove the Faulty Front Camera

Remove two screws and disconnect three connector plugs.
Remove the damaged or non-working front camera carefully.

Step 9: Install the New Front Camera

Place the new front camera into the body.
Reconnect the three connector plugs and secure the camera with two screws.

⚠️ Note: Replacing the front camera will not always fix Face ID issues. In some cases, Face ID may be lost or require additional calibration.

Step 10: Reinstall the Bracket

Place the bracket back and secure it with four screws.

Step 11: Reconnect the Screen

Reconnect the LCD and touch connectors.
Add the shield and secure with three screws.

Step 12: Secure the Top Connector

Close the screen at a 45-degree angle like closing a book.
Slide the screen down and connect the top connector to the logic board.
Secure the shield with two screws.

Step 13: Close the iPad

To clamp the iPad back together:

  • Insert the top section first
  • Then press the sides and bottom simultaneously
  • Apply pressure around the edges to secure the screen
