How to Find Tools and Parts
Start by switching off the iPhone completely.
Eject the SIM tray, then use a Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws located next to the charging port. These screws secure the screen to the frame.
To safely lift the screen, you must soften the adhesive around the edges.
We’re using a heating pad, but a heat gun or even a regular hairdryer will work fine. Apply moderate heat around the entire display for an even release.
Once warmed, use a double-sided suction cup to lift the front panel.
If you don’t have one, a regular suction cup plus a pry card or triangle picker will also do the job. Carefully slide around the corners to break the rubber gasket without damaging the internal flex cables.
After the adhesive starts loosening, gently lift the screen from the left side—like opening a book.
Remove the small shield and undo the battery connector first. This step ensures there is no power going to the boardduring the repair.
Next, move to the top area. Remove the five screws holding the metal bracket, then disconnect the display and earpiece flex cables. You can now completely separate the screen from the phone body.
The iPhone 12 Mini battery is held in place using strong stretch adhesive strips.
There are usually three pull tabs at the bottom of the battery. Slowly pull each strip out at a low angle. If a strip snaps — don’t worry — it happens often, especially if the phone was previously repaired.
If any adhesive remains stuck, use a plastic pry tool to gently lift the battery.
Avoid using metal tools to prevent damage to the logic board or frame.
Once free, take the old battery out and clean any leftover adhesive from the frame.
Apply new adhesive strips or use a pre-cut battery tape to secure the replacement battery.
Place the new battery firmly into position and ensure it sits flush without pressure on the flex cable.
Bring the display back and start reconnecting the components:
Secure all shields with their original screws. Make sure every bracket is aligned properly — incorrect placement can cause no-display issues.
Before sealing, check that no cables are pinched and no screws are missing.
To close:
Then reinstall the SIM tray and tighten the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom.
Power on the device to ensure:
You are all set!

No. A battery replacement does not affect your data. Still, backing up is always recommended.
Older devices or previously repaired phones often have weaker adhesive strips, causing them to snap during removal.
It helps restore some water resistance, but the phone will never be fully waterproof after opening.
With a high-quality replacement, you should get similar life to a new device — around 1–2 days depending on usage.
Yes, but you may see a “Battery Service” notification. Performance is usually fine if the battery is good quality.
