How to Find Tools and Parts

Step-by-Step Camera Lens Replacement

Step 1 — Power Off and Remove SIM Tray

Turn off the phone completely before starting the repair.

Remove the SIM tray using a SIM ejector tool.

Step 2 — Heat the Back Cover

The rear cover is secured with strong adhesive.

Gently heat around the edges of the back cover until the adhesive softens.

We recommend using a heating pad. Place the phone rear side down and select the mobile heating option until the heating cycle completes.

Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer.

Step 3 — Remove the Rear Cover

Attach a suction cup near the edge of the rear cover and gently lift to create a small opening.

Insert a plastic pry card or opening tool into the gap.

Carefully slide around the edges to cut through the adhesive.

Slowly lift and remove the rear cover.

Step 4 — Remove Mid-Frame

Remove the 16 screws located in the top and bottom sections.

Using a plastic pry tool, gently separate the mid-frame from the body.

Work slowly around the edges to release the plastic clips.

⚠️ Be careful while lifting the frame because the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still connected.

Disconnect the fingerprint flex cable to fully remove the mid-frame.

Now disconnect the battery connector for safety.

Step 5 — Remove the Broken Camera Lens

Apply gentle heat around the camera lens area to soften the adhesive.

Carefully lift and remove the damaged camera lens.

Clean the surface thoroughly.

Make sure:

  • No broken glass pieces remain
  • Adhesive residue is removed
  • The frame surface is smooth and clean

Step 6 — Install the New Camera Lens

Place adhesive around the lens frame.

Install the new camera lens and align it properly.

Press gently to secure it into position.

Step 7 — Reassemble the Phone

Reconnect:

  • Fingerprint flex cable
  • Battery connector

Reinstall the mid-frame.

Secure it using all 16 screws.

Insert the SIM tray.

Step 8 — Reinstall the Back Cover

Check if the original adhesive is still strong.

If needed:

  • Apply B7000 glue, or
  • Install a new double-sided adhesive.

Place the back cover carefully.

Use bonding clips or rubber bands to hold pressure evenly.

Leave them attached for some time to allow proper bonding.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Can I replace the camera lens without opening the phone?

No. The mid-frame must be removed to safely access and replace the lens properly.

Q2: Do I need to replace the camera module too?

Not usually. If photos were clear before the glass broke, replacing only the lens is enough.

Q3: What glue should I use for the back cover?

B7000 adhesive or pre-cut double-sided adhesive works best.

Q4: Will heating damage the phone?

No, as long as you apply moderate heat and avoid overheating one area for too long.

Q5: How many screws need removal?

You will need to remove 16 screws to detach the mid-frame.

Troubleshooting (After The repair)

Q1: Camera looks blurry after replacement. What should I do?

Remove the lens again and check for fingerprints, dust, or adhesive residue blocking the camera.

Q2: Back cover not sticking properly?

Clean all old adhesive completely and apply fresh B7000 glue or new adhesive tape.

Q3: Fingerprint sensor not working after reassembly?

Open the phone again and make sure the fingerprint flex cable is fully connected.

Q4: Dust appearing inside camera lens?

The lens may not be sealed properly. Remove and reinstall it using proper adhesive sealing.

Camera lens replacement is a moderate-difficulty repair but can be completed safely with patience and the right tools. Take your time during heating and adhesive removal to avoid damaging internal components.

We hope this guide helped you complete your repair successfully.
