How to Find Tools and Parts

👉 How to Use Tools for the Repair

Step 1 — Power Off & Prep the Device

Start by turning off the phone completely.
Remove the SIM tray before beginning any disassembly.

Step 2 — Remove the Back Cover

To safely open the device, you need to soften the adhesive around the back cover.

  • If you’re using a heating pad, place the phone with the back cover facing down and select the Mobile Phone Heating mode.
    Let the cycle finish.
  • If you don’t have a heating pad, a hairdryer or heat gun works fine.
Heat gently around the edges — avoid overheating to prevent damage.

Now place a suction cup at the bottom area of the back cover to lift a small gap.
Slide a plastic pry card around the edges to cut through the adhesive.
Take your time and keep the tool flat to avoid damaging internal parts.

Once all adhesive is separated, lift off the back cover.

Step 3 — Remove the Mid-Frame

Confirm the SIM tray is removed.

Next:

  1. Disconnect the fingerprint/power button flex connector.
  2. Remove all 15 screws holding the mid-frame.
  3. Use a plastic pry tool to gently unclip and lift the mid-frame from the body.
    Work slowly around the perimeter.

After removing the frame, disconnect the battery connector for safety.

Step 4 — Remove the Faulty Volume Button Flex

The volume flex sits underneath the logic board area.

  1. Remove the screw securing the logic board and gently lift it just enough for access.
  2. Warm the volume flex area using a heat gun or hairdryer.
This loosens the adhesive holding the flex cable.
  3. Carefully pry and peel off the faulty volume button flex.

Step 5 — Install the New Flex Cable

Align the new volume flex and press it into place firmly so it adheres correctly.

Reinstall the logic board screw and reconnect the battery plug.

Step 6 — Reassemble the Phone

  1. Place the mid-frame back onto the phone and ensure all clips are properly locked.
  2. Insert and tighten the 15 screws.
  3. Reconnect the fingerprint/power button connector.
  4. Insert the SIM tray.

Before installing the rear cover, check if the adhesive is still strong.
If not, apply B7000 glue or use a new back cover adhesive.

Secure the cover using bonding clips.
If you don’t have them, rubber bands work fine — just apply even pressure.
