  • Adhesive (B7000 or double-sided frame adhesive)
  • Bonding clips or rubber bands (optional but recommended)

Step-by-Step iPhone XS Charging Port Replacement Guide

Step 1: Power Off & Remove Screws

Turn off the phone.
Remove the SIM tray.
Undo the two bottom screws using a Pentalobe screwdriver.


Step 2: Open the Display

Use a suction cup to lift the screen.

If needed:

  • Use a plastic pry tool or triangle picker
  • Carefully loosen the adhesive around the frame

Step 3: Open the Screen

Lift the display gently like opening a book.

Remove five screws and take off the shield.
Disconnect:

  • Touch connector
  • LCD connector
  • Earpiece assembly connector

Step 4: Remove Speaker & Taptic Engine

  • Remove screws securing the speaker (buzzer)
  • Take out shields (3 screws)

  • Disconnect six additional connectors
  • Carefully remove the logic board

Step 7: Remove Charging Port Flex

  • Remove three screws and take off the shield
  • Undo three screws on top (including hidden shield)
  • Use tweezers to remove the microphone from its socket
  • Remove two additional screws holding the port
  • Gently peel off the charging port flex cable

⚠️ Note: The charging port flex includes the microphone.


Step 8: Install New Charging Port

Place the new charging port flex carefully.

  • Secure with two screws
  • Reinstall small shield (2 screws + 1 screw)
  • Reinstall long shield (3 screws)

Step 9: Reinstall Logic Board

  • Verify correct cable placement
  • Reinstall logic board and secure screws
  • Reconnect six connectors (including charging port)

Step 10: Reinstall Front Camera

Place the front camera module.
Reconnect connectors and secure screws.


Step 11: Reinstall Battery

Apply new adhesive strips.
Place and secure the battery.


Step 12: Reinstall Speaker & Taptic Engine

  • Install Taptic engine and connect it
  • Place speaker unit
  • Secure shields and screws
  • Reconnect speaker cable

Step 13: Apply Adhesive Seal

Apply pre-cut water seal adhesive around the frame.

⚠️ Note: This does not fully restore waterproofing.


Step 14: Reconnect Display

Reconnect:

  • LCD connector
  • Touch connector
  • Earpiece assembly connector

Secure with shield and five screws.


Step 15: Close the Device

Press display into place:

  • Top first
  • Then sides
  • Then bottom

Apply even pressure along the frame.


Step 16: Final Assembly

Insert SIM tray.
Tighten bottom screws.
