Step 1 – Power Off & Prep

Turn off the phone and remove the SIM tray before opening the device.

Step 2 – Remove the Back Cover

Gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive.

We’re using a heating pad — place the back cover side on the pad, select Mobile Phone Heating, and allow the cycle to finish.

You can also use a heat gun or hairdryer, but avoid overheating — too much heat can damage the internal components or deform the back cover.

Use a suction cup at the bottom edge to create a small gap.
Insert a plastic card pry tool into the gap and slowly slide around the edges to cut through the adhesive.
This step takes time—be patient and careful.

Once the adhesive is loose, lift and remove the back cover.

Step 3 – Access the Mid-Frame

Confirm once again that the SIM tray is removed.

Disconnect the fingerprint/power button connector plug.

Next, remove all 15 screws from the mid-frame.

Use a plastic pry card and gently work around the edges to release all mid-frame clips.
This process takes time — avoid bending the frame.

Lift the mid-frame away once fully released.

Step 4 – Remove the Faulty Fingerprint Button Sensor

The fingerprint button sensor is attached to the mid-frame.

  • First, free the bracket securing the sensor.
  • Then gently pull the faulty fingerprint flex cable from the mid-frame.

Step 5 – Install the New Fingerprint Sensor

Place the new fingerprint button flex in the correct position.

Secure it by installing the bracket back into place.
Make sure the sensor sits flat and aligned properly.

Step 6 – Reassemble the Phone

Place the mid-frame back onto the phone.

Reconnect the fingerprint button connector plug.

Insert the SIM tray.

Secure the mid-frame by tightening all 15 screws.
Check that all clips are properly fastened before tightening the screws fully.

Before installing the back cover, confirm if the adhesive is still usable.
If weak, apply B7000 glue or install a new double-sided adhesive.

Press the back cover firmly onto the body.

Use bonding clips to hold it in place.
If you don’t have clips, rubber bands will work fine.
Leave them on for some time to ensure strong bonding.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where is the fingerprint sensor located on the Galaxy A15 5G?

It is built into the power button on the side of the mid-frame.

2. Do I need to remove the battery or logic board?

No. The fingerprint sensor is located in the mid-frame, so only the back cover and mid-frame need to be removed.

3. Will replacing the sensor erase fingerprints?

Yes. You will need to re-register your fingerprints after installing a new sensor.

4. My fingerprint sensor stopped responding. Will replacing it fix the issue?

If the problem is caused by a damaged flex cable or defective button module, replacing it will fix the issue.

5. Can I use glue to secure the fingerprint sensor?

No. It should only be secured using the original bracket — adhesive may interfere with the button.
