Tools You Need

  • Heating pad / heat gun / hairdryer
  • Suction cup
  • Plastic card pry tools / opening picks
  • Phillips PH00 screwdriver
  • Adhesive (B7000 or double-sided back cover adhesive)
  • Bonding clips or rubber bands (optional but recommended)

Before You Start

  • Power off the phone
  • Remove the SIM tray
  • Work on a clean, flat surface

Step-by-Step Repair

1. Remove the Back Cover

  1. Gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive.
    • You can use a heating pad (Mobile Phone Heating mode)
    • Or a heat gun / hairdryer (do not overheat)
  2. Use a suction cup at the bottom area to create a small gap.
  3. Insert a plastic pry tool into the gap and slowly slide around the edges to separate the adhesive.
    • Take your time
    • Don’t insert the tool too deep
  4. Once the adhesive is fully loosened, lift and remove the back cover.

2. Open the Mid-frame

  1. Confirm the SIM tray is removed.
  2. Remove all 15 mid-frame screws.
  3. Disconnect the fingerprint/power button plug.
  4. Use a plastic pry tool to separate the mid-frame.
    • Work gently around the edges
    • Release all plastic clips
  5. Disconnect the battery connector.

3. Remove the Faulty Charging Port Board

  1. Disconnect:
    • Both main flex cables
    • Antenna head
  2. Remove the screw holding the charging port board.
  3. Lift and remove the non-working charging port board from the frame.

While Changing the Charging Port Board, You Can Also Replace The Vibrator Motor and Loudspeaker.


4. Install the New Charging Port Board

  1. Place the new board in position.
  2. Add the screw to secure it.
  3. Reconnect:
    • Antenna head
    • Both main flex cables

5. Reassemble the Phone

  1. Reconnect the battery plug.
  2. Place the mid-frame back and align the clips.
  3. Tighten all 15 screws.
  4. Secure the fingerprint/power button connector.
  5. Reinsert the SIM tray.

6. Install & Seal the Back Cover

Before installing the back cover, check if the adhesive is still strong.
If needed:

  • Apply B7000 glue, or
  • Use new back cover adhesive

Press the back cover firmly and use bonding clips.
If you don’t have clips, rubber bands also work.
Leave them for some time for proper bonding.
