This repair involves removing the back cover, logic board, and disconnecting multiple connectors, so it is important to follow each step carefully. How to Use the Heating Pad Properly
Protect Your Galaxy S20 Series Phone (4G & 5G)
First, power off the phone completely.
Remove the SIM tray and keep it aside. This ensures the SIM slot is safe during back cover removal.
To remove the back cover, gently heat around the edges until the adhesive softens.
For this repair, we are using a heating pad. Place the back cover side on the pad, select the mobile phone heating option, and allow the cycle to complete.
Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer, but avoid focusing heat on one spot for too long.
Once heated, use a suction cup to create a gap between the frame and the back cover.
Insert a plastic card or pry tool to carefully cut the adhesive along the edges. Take your time to avoid cracking the glass.
Remove the back cover carefully.
Undo the five screws securing the wireless charging pad.
Disconnect the pad’s connector and remove the wireless charging pad.
Next, disconnect the battery connector from the logic board to safely cut power from the device.
Undo the five screws securing the logic board frame. Carefully remove the frame to access the internal components.
Locate the front camera attached to the logic board.
Disconnect and remove the front camera. If your front camera is broken, replace it with a new camera module.
Once replaced, set the camera aside and prepare for rear camera replacement.
Undo the six connector plugs attached to the logic board.
Use a plastic pry tool or tweezers to gently lift and remove the logic board from the body.
On the rear side of the logic board, locate the two-in-one wide camera and telephone camera connectors.
Disconnect both camera plugs. Remove the broken rear camera modules and replace them with new units.
Secure the new cameras properly on the logic board before reassembling.
Place the logic board back onto the phone body.
Reconnect all six connector plugs to the board.
Place the front camera back into its slot.
Secure the logic board frame by fastening the five screws.
Reconnect the battery connector.
Place the wireless charging pad and secure its connector and five screws.
Insert the SIM tray back into the device.
Before installing the back cover, check that it has enough adhesive.
If needed, use B7000 glue or a new double-sided back cover adhesive.
Place the back cover on the body carefully.
Use screen binding clips to hold the cover firmly. If clips are unavailable, use rubber bands and leave them for some time to ensure proper adhesion.
1. Can I replace only the front or rear camera separately?
Yes. You can replace either camera module individually without affecting the other.
2. Will camera replacement affect autofocus or image quality?
No, if the replacement module is genuine and connectors are securely fastened.
3. Is adhesive required for back cover installation?
Yes. Proper adhesive ensures the phone remains sealed and structurally strong.
4. Can I reuse the original back cover adhesive?
It’s not recommended. Using new adhesive provides better sealing and prevents lifting.
5. Do I need to calibrate the camera after replacement?
Most replacements do not require calibration, but running the camera test in settings ensures proper functionality.
6. Does replacing the cameras affect water resistance?
Yes. Opening the phone may reduce water resistance even if new adhesive is applied.
1. Camera shows black screen after replacement
Check that the camera connectors are securely seated.
2. Autofocus or image stabilization not working
Verify that the camera module is properly installed and screws are tightened.
3. Phone does not power on after reassembly
Ensure the battery connector is properly reconnected and all logic board connectors are seated.
4. Back cover does not stick properly
Use additional adhesive and leave binding clips or rubber bands for a longer curing time.
