Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G Camera Lens Glass Replacement | Change Back Cover Guide

Hi everyone, welcome back to Geardo!

Today we will show you how to replace the rear camera lens glass and the back cover on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE models.

Before starting the repair, make sure you have the correct tools ready. You can find the full tools list in the description below.

Step 1 — Remove the SIM Tray

Begin by ejecting and removing the SIM tray.

Step 2 — Back Cover Removal

To remove the back cover, you must soften the adhesive around the edges.

We are using a heating pad for this repair.
Place the back cover side on the pad, select the Mobile Phone Heating option, and let it complete the cycle.

If you don’t have a heating pad, a heat gun or hairdryer will also work.

Step 3 — Separate the Back Cover

Once heated:

  • Use a suction cup to create an initial gap
  • Insert a plastic card or thin pry tool
  • Carefully cut the adhesive around the frame

Lift and remove the back cover completely.

Step 4 — Heat the Camera Lens Area

To remove the broken or scratched camera lens:

  • Apply gentle heat directly to the camera lens area on the rear cover
  • Heat for a short time until the adhesive softens

Once heated enough, push from the inside of the back cover and the camera lens frame will pop out.

Step 5 — Choose the Correct Replacement Part

There are two types of replacement parts available:

  1. Camera Lens with Frame
  2. Camera Lens Only (no frame)

We recommend using the camera lens with the frame. It is easier, faster to install, and usually the price difference is minimal.

Step 6 — Install the New Camera Lens

Place the new camera lens frame into the opening.

Most new lenses come with pre-installed adhesive. If your part does not include adhesive:

  • Apply a thin layer of B7000 glue around the edges
  • Make sure the lens sits perfectly flat without gaps

Step 7 — Reinstall the Back Cover

Before installing the back cover:

  • Check if the adhesive is still strong
  • If not, apply B7000 glue or a new double-sided adhesive seal

Place the back cover back onto the frame and press it firmly for proper bonding.

All Done!

You have successfully replaced the camera lens on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE camera lens replacement fix?

Replacing the camera lens resolves issues such as:

  • Scratched or cracked rear camera glass
  • Blurry or foggy photos
  • Black spots or poor image clarity
  • Dust entering the camera module through broken glass

It also allows you to replace or reseal the back cover if it’s damaged or weakened during the repair.

2. Do I need to replace the camera lens with the frame, or just the lens?

You can choose either:

  • Lens with frame: Recommended — easier, faster, and replacement cost is almost the same.
  • Lens only: Cheaper, but more precise work is required to avoid dust or misalignment.

Using the lens with frame also helps properly align and seal the back cover.

3. Can this repair be used to replace the back cover as well?

Yes.
Since the back cover is removed to access the camera lens, you can replace it at the same time.
Just apply new adhesive or B7000 glue when installing the replacement back cover.

4. Do I need to remove the main camera module to change the lens?

No. The lens is attached to the back cover, not the camera module.
You only need to remove the back cover and then replace the lens.

5. Does replacing the camera lens affect water resistance?

Yes, slightly. Opening the back cover breaks the original seal.
To restore protection, use:

  • B7000 glue, or
  • New double-sided adhesive around the edges of the back cover.

6. Does the camera lens come with adhesive?

Most replacement lenses come with pre-installed adhesive.
If not, apply a thin layer of B7000 glue around the edges before installation.

7. Will a broken lens affect photo quality even if the sensor is fine?

Yes. Scratches, cracks, or dust on the lens glass can cause blurry images, light flares, or focusing issues.
Replacing the lens restores full camera performance.
