Step-by-Step Charging Port Board Replacement Guide
Step 1: Power Off and LCD Screen Removal
First, power off the tablet completely and disconnect it from any power source.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 uses a front-mounted LCD screen secured with strong adhesive, so proper heating is required before removal.
For this repair, we are using a heating pad.
Place the tablet screen-side down on the heating pad and select the tablet heating option. Allow the heating cycle to complete fully so the adhesive softens evenly around the edges.
Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer. Apply gentle heat around all four sides of the screen, keeping the heat source moving to avoid overheating any single area.
Once the adhesive is softened, attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap.
Insert a plastic pry tool or card into the gap and carefully slide it along the edges to cut through the adhesive.
Work slowly and avoid inserting the tool too deep, as the display flex cables are located underneath the screen.
Once the adhesive is fully released, gently lift the LCD screen and flip it over, allowing it to rest on the tablet body without straining the cables.
Step 2: Disconnect Battery and Display
Remove the metal bracket by undoing the securing screw.
Disconnect the battery connector first to prevent short circuits.
Next, undo the two screws holding the LCD connector bracket.
Disconnect the LCD connector plug, and carefully remove the screen unit from the body.
Step 3: Remove Speaker Cover
Undo nineteen screws securing the speaker cover.
Carefully lift and remove the speaker cover to expose the charging port board and internal components.
Step 4: Charging Port Board Removal
Disconnect the faulty charging port board connector.
Apply gentle heat to soften the adhesive holding the charging port board in place.
Using a plastic pry tool, carefully lift and remove the charging port board from the body.
Step 5: Install New Charging Port Board
Place the new charging port board into position and ensure it is aligned correctly.
Secure the board firmly and reconnect the charging port connector.
Reinstall the speaker cover and secure it with nineteen screws.
Step 6: Testing and Reassembly
Reconnect the LCD connector, followed by the battery connector.
Before sealing the tablet, test charging and screen functionality to ensure everything works properly.
Secure the LCD connector bracket with two screws and the battery bracket with one screw.
Step 7: Screen Installation
Before installing the LCD screen, ensure there is sufficient adhesive.
If needed, apply B7000 glue or use new double-sided LCD adhesive.
Gently slide the screen into place from the bottom first, then align the top.
Apply light pressure around the screen edges.
Use bonding clips to secure the screen and leave them in place for some time.
If bonding clips are not available, use rubber bands to hold the screen firmly against the frame.
