How to Find Tools and Parts

Protect Your Galaxy A7 Tablet

Step-by-Step LCD Touch Screen Replacement Guide

Step 1: Power Off & Screen Removal

First, turn off the tablet completely.

To remove the LCD screen, heat the edges gently until the adhesive softens.

For this repair, we are using a heating pad.
Place the tablet screen-side down on the heating pad, select the tablet heating option, and leave it until the cycle completes.

Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer.

Once the heating is enough, use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly.
Insert a plastic pry tool or card and carefully cut the adhesive around the LCD screen.

If your screen is cracked, gently remove the broken pieces and clean the edges well.

Next, gently lift and flip the screen to rest on the body.

Step 2: Disconnect Battery and LCD

Remove the battery connector bracket by undoing the screw.

Disconnect the battery connector.

Next, undo the two screws to remove the LCD bracket.

Disconnect the LCD connector plug, and the screen unit can now be removed from the body.

Step 3: Transfer LCD Flex Cable

Disconnect and pull out the LCD flex cable from the broken screen.

Place and secure the LCD flex cable on the new screen.

Connect the LCD flex to the logic board, then reconnect the battery plug.

Step 4: Test the New Screen

Test and verify the functionality of the new screen to ensure touch and display are working properly.

Step 5: Reassembly

Secure the LCD flex cable bracket by tightening the screw.

Secure the LCD bracket by adding two screws and the battery bracket by adding one screw.

Step 6: Screen Installation

Before installing the LCD screen, ensure it has enough adhesive.
If not, use B7000 glue or a new double-sided LCD adhesive.

Gently slide in the screen from the bottom and then to the top.

Apply slight pressure around the screen edges.

Finally, add bonding clips to fasten the LCD screen.

Leave it for some time and then remove the clips.
If bonding clips are not available, use rubber bands to tighten the screen to the body.

FAQs

1. Does the Galaxy Tab A7 T500 and T505 use the same LCD screen?
Yes, both T500 and T505 models use the same LCD Touch Screen assembly and the same replacement procedure.

2. Do I need to remove the back cover to replace the screen?
No. The screen is replaced from the front. You only need to remove the LCD screen and access the internal brackets.

3. Can I replace only the glass without changing the LCD?
No. The screen is fused (LCD + digitizer), so you need to replace the full LCD Touch Screen assembly.

4. Is heating required for screen removal?
Yes. Heating is necessary to soften the adhesive and safely remove the screen without damaging it.

5. What adhesive should I use for reassembly?
Use B7000 glue or a double-sided LCD adhesive to ensure the screen is sealed properly.

6. Do I need to disconnect the battery before removing the screen?
Yes. Always disconnect the battery first to prevent short circuits and damage to the motherboard.

Troubleshooting – After The Repair

1. Screen not turning on after replacement
Check the LCD connector and make sure it is properly seated and locked.

2. Touch not working or unresponsive
Recheck the LCD flex cable and connector. Ensure it is clean and properly aligned.

3. Screen flickering or showing lines
This usually happens due to a loose connection or damaged flex cable. Reconnect and test again.

4. Screen lifting after installation
This means the adhesive is not strong enough. Apply fresh glue and use bonding clips or rubber bands for a longer time.
