Today we will show you how to replace the SIM card reader (SIM holder) on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020), T500 and T505 models.
If your tablet is not detecting SIM cards, showing SIM errors, or not connecting to mobile networks, this guide will help you replace the SIM card reader safely and correctly.

Make sure the tablet is turned off and the SIM tray is removed (For Cellular Version)before starting.
How to Find Tools and Parts
First, power off the tablet completely.
To remove the LCD screen, heat the screen edges gently until the adhesive softens.
For this repair, we are using a heating pad.
Place the tablet screen-side down on the heating pad and select the tablet heating option. Leave it until the cycle completes.
Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer.
Once the heating is enough, use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly.
Insert a plastic pry tool or card and carefully cut the adhesive around the LCD screen.
If the screen is cracked, gently remove the broken pieces and clean the edges.
Next, gently lift and flip the screen to rest on the body.
Remove the battery connector bracket by undoing the screw.
Disconnect the battery connector first.
Next, remove the LCD bracket by undoing the two screws.
Disconnect the LCD connector plug.
Now the screen unit can be fully removed from the body.
Undo the screws to remove the speaker cover.
Carefully lift and remove the speaker cover to expose the SIM card reader board.
Disconnect the SIM card reader connector from the board.
Carefully remove the broken SIM holder from the body.
If adhesive is used, gently remove it and clean the area before installing the new holder.
Place the new SIM card reader holder into position.
Make sure it aligns properly and fits securely.
Reconnect the SIM holder connector to the board.
Place the speaker cover back in position and secure it with the screws.
Reconnect the LCD connector plug first.
Then reconnect the battery connector plug.
Power on the tablet and test the SIM card functionality.
Insert a SIM card and check if the tablet detects the SIM and connects to the network.
Secure the LCD bracket using the two screws.
Secure the battery bracket using one screw.
Before installing the LCD screen, ensure it has enough adhesive.
If not, use B7000 glue or a new double-sided LCD adhesive.
Gently slide the screen from the bottom to the top.
Apply slight pressure around the screen edges.
Finally, add bonding clips to fasten the screen.
Leave it for some time, then remove the clips.
If clips are not available, use rubber bands to tighten the screen to the body.
