Hi everyone, welcome back to DIY GEARDO.
Today, we’re walking you through the complete process of replacing the battery on the iPhone 12. If your phone drains quickly, shuts off unexpectedly, or struggles to hold a charge, replacing the battery is one of the best ways to bring it back to life. This guide follows the exact steps from our video so you can easily perform the repair at home.
Before starting, make sure you have the correct tools for this repair. The tools we use—including pry tools, screwdrivers, suction cups, and adhesive—are all listed in the description. Using the proper tools makes the process smoother and greatly reduces the risk of damage.
This repair guide based on iPhone 12 mobile phone. But this guide also compatible with iPhone12 Pro mobile phone.

How to Find Tools and Parts
Begin by turning off the phone completely. This prevents short circuits during the repair.
Next, remove the SIM tray from the side of the device.
Then, take a Pentalobe screwdriver and undo the two screws located at the bottom of the phone near the charging port. These screws secure the display to the frame.

The iPhone 12 display is sealed with strong adhesive to protect against dust and splashes. To open it safely, you must soften this adhesive.
We are using a heating pad, placing the front side of the phone onto the pad and allowing it to warm up. If you don’t have a heating pad, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer—just make sure to heat the edges evenly and avoid overheating the device.
Once the adhesive is warm, attach a suction cup to the bottom area of the screen.
Lift gently to create a small opening.
Insert a plastic pry card or triangle pickup tool into the gap and slowly slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Take your time here to avoid damaging the rubber gasket around the screen.
Open the display from the left side, like turning a page in a book, being careful not to pull the screen cables.
Inside, you’ll see two shield plates secured with screws—two screws at the bottom and four at the top.
Remove these shields, then disconnect the following connectors:
Always disconnect the battery first for safety.
The iPhone 12 battery is held down with adhesive pull tabs.
There are two sticky strips under the battery—slowly pull each strip outward while keeping the angle low.
If the adhesive tears or has been replaced during a previous repair, you may need to apply slight heat and gently pry the battery.
Once free, lift and remove the old battery.
Attach new adhesive to the replacement battery, then place it carefully into the frame.
Make sure it sits flat and properly aligned.

Add the pre-cut water-seal tape around the frame. Note that this tape will improve splash resistance but will not fully restore Apple’s factory waterproof rating.
Reconnect:
Then reinstall the top and bottom shields with their original screws.
Position the screen, click the top section in first, then press along the sides and bottom to secure it.
Finish by reinstalling the two Pentalobe screws and reinserting the SIM tray.
Your iPhone 12 battery replacement is now complete.

Yes, iPhone 12 battery replacement guide compatible with iPhone 12 Pro version too.
Yes. The adhesive around the frame should always be replaced. It helps maintain dust and splash resistance, but the phone will not be fully waterproof afterward.
No, the battery has no connection to the Face ID system. As long as you don’t damage the earpiece/Face ID assembly during the repair, Face ID will continue to work.
These tabs allow the battery to be removed without prying. If the phone has been repaired before, the adhesive may differ or break during removal.
If the battery health is below 80%, drains quickly, shuts down randomly, or feels swollen, it’s time to replace it.
