If you can’t hear calls properly, the sound is very low, or completely missing from the top speaker, replacing the earpiece will resolve the issue. This guide is beginner-friendly but involves removing the logic board, so take your time with each step.

Step-by-Step Earpiece Replacement

Step 1: Power Off & Remove SIM Tray

Turn off the device and remove the SIM tray.


Step 2: Open the Device & Remove Back Cover

  • Apply gentle heat around the edges
  • Use a suction cup to lift slightly
  • Insert a plastic card/pry tool
  • Carefully cut through adhesive and remove the back cover

Step 3: Remove the Board Frame

  • Undo 11 screws
  • Disconnect the flash connector
  • Lift and remove the board frame

Step 4: Remove the Logic Board & Connectors

Follow this sequence carefully:

  • Disconnect:
    • Two antenna cables
    • Main flex cable
    • SIM reader flex
    • Power/fingerprint flex
  • Slightly move the front camera if needed
  • Carefully lift and remove the logic board

Step 5: Remove the Faulty Earpiece

  • Locate the earpiece at the top section
  • Apply gentle heat if adhesive is present
  • Unscrew or lift the earpiece carefully
  • Remove it from the frame

Step 6: Install the New Earpiece

  • Place the new earpiece in position
  • Align it properly with contact points
  • Secure it (screws or adhesive depending on unit)

Step 7: Reinstall the Logic Board

  • Place the logic board back into position
  • Ensure correct alignment
  • Reconnect:
    • Main flex cable
    • SIM reader flex
    • Antenna cables
    • Power/fingerprint connector

Step 8: Reinstall the Board Frame

  • Place the board frame
  • Secure with 11 screws
  • Reconnect the flash connector

Step 9: Test Before Closing

Power on the device and check:

  • Call audio from earpiece
  • Speaker clarity

Step 10: Close the Device

  • Apply adhesive if needed
  • Place the back cover
