Tools Required

  • Heating pad / heat gun / hairdryer
  • Suction cup
  • Plastic card pry tools / opening picks / Tweezers
  • Phillips PH000/PH00 screwdriver
  • Torx T3 Screwdriver
  • Adhesive (B7000 or double-sided back cover adhesive)
  • Bonding clips or rubber bands (optional but recommended)

Make sure the tablet is turned off and the SIM tray is removed before starting.

Step-by-Step Rear Camera Replacement (Google Pixel 6a)

Step 1: Power Off the Phone

Turn off your Google Pixel 6a completely before starting the repair.


Step 2: Heat the Display

Heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive.

  • Place the phone screen-side down on a heating pad
  • Select the mobile phone heating option
  • Heat until the adhesive becomes soft

Alternative: use a heat gun or hair dryer.


Step 3: Open the Screen

  1. Use a suction cup on the right side of the screen
  2. Lift gently to create a small opening
  3. Insert a plastic card pry tool
  4. Cut the adhesive around the screen

⚠️ Be careful: the LCD connector cable is located on the left-hand side.


Step 4: Lift the Screen

Lift the screen gradually from right to left and open it like a book.


Step 5: Remove the LCD Connector Bracket

Use tweezers to remove the connector bracket securing the LCD cable.


Step 6: Disconnect the LCD Cable

Disconnect the LCD connector plug from the board.

Now you can remove the screen from the body.


Step 7: Remove the Logic Board Bracket

  • Undo 13 screws on the logic board bracket
  • Lift the bracket carefully by loosening the graphite tapes

Step 8: Disconnect the Battery

Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.


Step 9: Remove the Faulty Ultrawide Camera

Disconnect and remove the ultrawide camera module from the board.


Step 10: Remove the Faulty Main Wide Camera

Disconnect and remove the main wide camera module.


Step 11: Install the New Main Wide Camera

Place the new main wide camera into the correct position.


Step 12: Install the New Ultrawide Camera

Place the new ultrawide camera into position and secure it.


Step 13: Reconnect the Battery

Secure the battery connector back onto the motherboard.


Step 14: Reinstall the Logic Board Bracket

  • Place the bracket back
  • Secure with 13 screws
  • Reapply the graphite tapes

Step 15: Test the Display

Connect the LCD screen and power on the phone for testing.

  • Touch response
  • Camera app opening
  • Main & ultrawide camera functionality

Step 16: Secure the LCD Connector Bracket

Once testing passes, secure the connector bracket.


Step 17: Apply Adhesive

Before securing the LCD screen, ensure the frame has enough glue.
Use B7000 glue or a new double-sided LCD adhesive if needed.


Step 18: Install the Screen

Gently slide the screen from bottom to top and apply light pressure on edges.


Step 19: Final Clamping

Add bonding clips or rubber bands to secure the screen to the body.
Leave it for some time until the adhesive sets.
