Today, we’ll show you how to replace the LCD/AMOLED screen display assembly on the Poco F3, also known as the Xiaomi Mi 11X and Redmi K40.

If your screen is cracked, unresponsive, flickering, or showing display issues, this guide will help you replace it step by step. This is a beginner-friendly guide, but it’s a longer repair since many internal components need to be transferred.

Tools Required

  • Mobile phone heating pad or hairdryer/heat gun
  • Plastic pry tool / card pry
  • Suction cups
  • Phillips #00/#000 screwdrivers
  • Torx (T2/T3/T4) screwdrivers
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Tweezers (for connectors)
  • B7000 glue or double-sided adhesive (for back cover)
  • Rubber bands or bonding clips to secure the back cover

Step-by-Step Screen Replacement

Step 1: Power Off & Remove SIM Tray

Turn off the phone and remove the SIM tray.


Step 2: Remove the Back Cover

  • Heat the edges to soften adhesive (heating pad recommended)
  • Use a suction cup and pry tool to lift
  • Cut through adhesive and remove the back cover carefully

Step 3: Remove the Board Frame

  • Remove 11 screws
  • Disconnect flash connector
  • Lift and remove the frame

Step 4: Disconnect Battery

  • Unplug battery connector (right side)

Step 5: Remove Logic Board

  • Disconnect:
    • Two antenna cables
    • Main flex cable
    • SIM reader flex
    • Power/fingerprint flex
  • Carefully lift the board (move front camera slightly if needed)

Step 6: Remove Top Components

  • Remove earpiece (heat + screws)
  • Remove sensor flex and bracket (apply gentle heat)

Step 7: Remove Battery

  • Pull adhesive strips from sides
  • Gently lift the battery

Step 8: Remove Side Button Components

  • Move battery tape aside
  • Peel power/fingerprint flex cable
  • Heat and remove volume button flex
  • Remove rubber bracket
  • Remove fingerprint bracket and push button out
  • Remove volume button bracket and flex

Step 9: Remove Bottom Components

  • Remove speaker cover (7 screws)
  • Disconnect and remove main flex
  • Remove charging port (disconnect antenna + connector)
  • Remove SIM tray

Step 10: Disconnect Display & Other Parts

  • Disconnect display (LCD/AMOLED) connector
  • Remove vibration motor (apply heat)
  • Remove SIM reader cable (heat + gentle pry)

Now only the screen frame assembly remains.


Screen Replacement Options (Important)

There are two types of replacement screens:

  1. Without Frame
    • Cheaper
    • Requires separating screen from frame (difficult)
  2. With Frame (Recommended ✅)
    • Easier installation
    • Includes pre-installed structure
    • Saves time and reduces risk

👉 Best option: Screen with frame & buttons pre-installed


Reassembly (Installing New Screen)

Transfer all components to the new frame:

Step 11: Install Internal Components

  • Install sensor flex and bracket
  • Install earpiece (secure with screws)
  • Install volume flex
  • Insert fingerprint/power button
  • Secure fingerprint bracket
  • Install rubber button bracket

Step 12: Install Logic Board

  • Place logic board
  • Reconnect all cables
  • Ensure camera and connectors are aligned properly

Step 13: Install Remaining Components

  • Install vibration motor
  • Connect SIM reader flex
  • Insert SIM tray
  • Place battery and secure adhesive
  • Install charging port and antenna
  • Install main flex cable
  • Install speaker (7 screws)
  • Reconnect antenna cables

Step 14: Final Connections

  • Reconnect sensor and battery connectors
  • Install board frame (11 screws)

Step 15: Test Before Sealing

Power on the device and check:

  • Display
  • Touch response
  • Buttons
  • Charging

Step 16: Seal the Back Cover

  • Apply adhesive (B7000 or new adhesive)
  • Press back cover
  • Use clips or rubber bands
  • Leave to bond properly
