Step-by-Step Taptic Engine Replacement Instructions
Step 1: Power Off & Remove Bottom Screws
- Turn off the iPhone XR completely.
- Using a Pentalobe screwdriver, remove the two bottom screws next to the charging port.
Step 2: Heat the Screen Adhesive
- To remove the front screen, gently heat around the screen edges until the adhesive softens.
- Place the front screen side down on a heating pad, select the mobile phone heating option, and wait for the cycle to complete.
- Alternatively, you can use a heat gun or hairdryer, keeping it 10–15 cm away.

Step 3: Lift the Screen

Step 4: Disconnect Battery & Display
- Remove the shield by undoing three screws.
